INIFD presents Gen Next at Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI. We are thrilled to announce that Rosani, has been featured at the prestigious “Lakme GenNext” platform by Lakme Fashion Week in March 2024. This is a remarkable achievement for our young brand, and a testament to the innovative spirit and boundary-pushing designs that define Rosani.
Our debut collection, “Anima Animus”, took center stage at the event, showcasing our commitment to redefining the narrative of menswear. Drawing inspiration from the Jungian concepts of the feminine and masculine within each individual, the collection boldly blurs the lines between traditional gender norms in fashion. Soft embroidery juxtaposed with structured fabrics, and boxy silhouettes adorned with floral motifs - each piece is a celebration of the fluid spectrum of identity.
As Rohitash Notani shared in an interview, “With ‘Anima & Animus’, Rosani is setting the stage for a reimagined narrative in menswear-one that makes space for the pluralistic nature of our identities. We’ve incorporated elements that traditionally aren’t seen together in menswear like soft embroidery with structured fabrics, the robust with the tender, the boxy volumes with floral motifs, and crinolines. ‘Anima & Animus’ is our attempt to reassert the essence of human existence, always a little bit of both the feminine and the masculine, and confined to neither - beauty that is boundless.”
This recognition from Lakme Fashion Week is not just an accolade; it’s a validation of Rosani’s ethos and the hard work behind our vision. Being celebrated in our debut year adds a layer of responsibility to uphold the innovative spirit we’re known for. It pushes us even further to deliver on the promise that first inspired Rosani - to weave narratives that resonate deeply with the evolving identity of today’s man.
As a brand, Rosani is an extension of Rohitash’s intention to create a language of menswear that is authentic to the wearer, yet able to hold space for them to grow and expand. A non-believer of barriers and borders, Rosani reflects the centricity of the designer’s Indian expression amidst his life and work in Milan & Berlin.
We are immensely grateful for this opportunity and the exposure provided by the GenNext platform. It propels emerging talents like us onto a global stage. This is just the beginning of Rosani’s journey, and we can’t wait to continue pushing boundaries, challenging norms, and celebrating the power of limitless identity through our designs.
Stay tuned for more from Rosani as we dream big and grow mindfully, shaping the future of menswear one stitch at a time. Here’s to many more milestones ahead!
